thought?

26 Sep

very often we think that we suffer because there is a lesson…while that may very well be true i think the other part that we forget more often than not is that we suffer so as to be able to share it with others, that they may learn in the process as well.

my friend told me that we have nothing to begin with and that everything we have, even the beating of our heart, is given by God and is a privilege not a right. We forget quite often that it is a privilege to live our lives and with everything that we have, we just focus on the bad and our sufferings. However life was given as a gift to begin with and not as something we have earned. The gift of life is a wonderful thing and along with it comes the gift of love.So combine these things together and we are able to comprehend why we go through trials and tribulations just a slight bit more and how we can use it and go through it with love instead of our other emotions getting in our way.

lesson on rivers

22 Sep

A little girl learnt something interesting recently…so here it goes once upon a time there was the dead sea and the nile river…both got the water from the same source, the jordan river. The dead sea was the lowest point on earth so all the rivers with their sediments flowed to it one way or another , while the nile was not so the water flowed from the jordan river to the nile to the dead sea.The jordan river was full of life with many many fishes and things growing in the sea however the dead sea was well…dead.

In relation, we are like rivers those who keep and keep and keep do not get anything in return, like the dead sea full of minerals until no living creature is able to survive in there. However those who give and give will always receive in return ,like the jordan river always having fresh water and being filled with life.

singlish

9 Sep

Singlish oddly enough, has had a history of its own. From the beautiful english language that we know of, we have ‘murdered it’.(or so i’ve heard…)People have tried to enforce us to change the way we speak, from english classes to tv shows they have tried to change the way we speak. You know what?It has worked… we have lost alot of our singlish slang, and along with it our culture, history and home. The joy that has come from speaking in that particular way, has been known as a skill which one should not have in their lives.

Yet it amazes me that only now do we realise the uniqueness of singlish and have cherished it with books and articles commenting on our frequent usage of singlish and the different types of phrases that we use. And how one short sentence can become so grammatically incorrect and therefore is now an amusement to us and to foreigners as well. However , little do we realise how much of the language that (we were once known to have murdered) we have lost. From a vide variety of terms and phrases, it has shortened down to a few main ones that we publish in a book and constantly talk about.

To me, we have belittled singlish, its lack of formality has caused us to lose something so precious in our society. Our society that has been built up by different people of different nations, we took culture from people and when we finally have something to call our own we say that it is improper and slowly lose it.

lol i tried to write it with good english…hope it works.happyirony though since im voting for singlish

lesson

9 Sep

I learnt something, however i have no clue whether it is correct so it is just an guess. I have always wondered why do people(with no answer, it is a never ending round of question and answer) say God gives us free will when he knows our future? How can be free will be given when he knows what is going to happen and he choses our path for us?How can the path of free will be intertwined with the path of him knowing our future?

What if we had one life but two paths? The first path is the path God made for us placing everything for us, both good and bad things in our lives and our second path is the one that we take when we are born.Still walking along his path but instead the options given in our lives is our free will. Its the same path but at the end the choices that we made is not what he has in mind but rather it is our free will and his knowledge(his knowledge of the life we lead) that we have taken it.

Perfect in God’s own way, balance in each and every sense and yet unbalance(to my human mind i guess)
